Fizz Traveller
Today
I'm going to review Fizz Software's Fizz Traveller.
Why? Because I just registered my Cingular 2125
at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/5/cingular/offer.mspx
and downloaded my free copy of Fizz Traveller.
And I'll be upfront and honest, I should have downloaded the news
program, and in this review, I'll tell you why....
Upon first entering the program, you're greated with a big clock.
Awesome. Only problem is, it shows times for New York, Paris, London,
Rome, Barcelona and Sydney. All places that I've never been to (except
New York) or ever will go to. Aside from the graphics being rich, and
the screen looking quite attractive, the program is useless for me and
anyone else like me who is too poor or not important enough to be a
world traveller or cool enough to know someone in these far away places
to even care what time it is there.
Now, what else does this program have. Oh, look at that, weather! Once
again, however, it only displays weather for these far-away almost
mythical like places.
Other
features of this program are alarms, which I won't even bother with
since it probably only wakes you up in London or China or something.
Itinerary, which may be handy for a traveller who wants to keep track
of their flight times and wheres and whens. A Conversion tool that
could be handy for an ignorant american like myself who can calculate
ounces to pounds and feet to miles, but has no idea how many meters are
in a kilometer or what a celcius even is (or even how to spell celcius
for that matter). And then, we get to my favorite option in the
software... the Quit button.
All in all, this software has a great look and there are plugins you
can use to implement it on your homescreen. This would be a useful tool
if you are a world traveller (who mainly goes to London, Rome,
Barcelona, Sydney, Paris or New York) you may find a use for this.
However, if you're like the rest of us average joes whos idea of a
vacation is enjoying a 6 pack relaxing in porchville USA, and whos idea
of a business trip is walking out to someone's car to give them the
rest of their super-sized combo meal, then this will eventually become
something you select in your remove programs list to free up some space
on your device.
